How to correct, dispute, or remove your listing

Charlotte Deck Builder Guide is an independent directory of deck builders across Greater Charlotte. Each listing pulls basic business information from public sources, and every score is calculated the same way for every company: we run all the Google reviews posted about your business through a single, published rubric and report what that method produces. Listing here is free, and no payment changes your score or ranking. This page explains what you can do if something needs fixing. The full rubric is published under how we score.

Fixing factual details

Your business name, address, phone number, website, hours of operation, and services listed can all be corrected. When you report a factual error, send proof of the correct value: a link to your website, your Google Business Profile, or another source we can verify against. Once we confirm the correction, we update your listing and that change stays in place even when we refresh our data in future months.

Challenging your score

We never hand-edit scores. If you believe your score is wrong, you are telling us the input data itself is wrong: your profile was matched to the wrong business, or reviews were credited to your company that should not be, or a summary of your reviews misstates what customers actually wrote. File a dispute and we will re-check the sources and regenerate your listing. A dispute is not a request for a higher score; it is a claim that the data feeding the score is incorrect.

Requesting removal

We remove listings for businesses that have permanently closed, duplicate entries for the same business, or companies outside the scope of this directory. An accurate, in-scope listing will not be removed even if you ask. We re-verify all listings every month, and that process automatically catches and removes businesses that have shut down. If we decline your removal request, we will tell you why.

How fast we respond

Every request gets a reply within 5 business days. If your request is approved and removal is warranted, we action it within 7 days. Declined requests come with the reason.
